Leap Performance Pte Ltd was established in July, 1998 by Dr Tan Jing Hee, to provide training, management education and consultancy in strategic and general management. Leap is also the sole, authorised affiliate of Louis Allen Associates Inc. in Singapore.Louis Allen public seminars are conducted in Singapore through the Singapore Institute of Management. In Malaysia, they are offered through the Malaysian Institute of Management in Kuala Lumpur and in Penang.
The Founder
Dr Tan Jing Hee, BSc, Dip. Ed., Dip.M., MBA, PhD., FCIM is the Managing Director of the company. He started work as a Retail Manager in a family business dealing with pharmaceutical products, toiletries and film development and processing.
He went on to become Senior Science Master of a government secondary school. After five years, he re-joined the private sector as a Merchandising Manager of Robinsons Departmental Store, with responsibilities over 6 departments in Menswear Division.
In 1973, he joined the Singapore Institute of Management, initially as Information, Publications and Research officer before moving into management development responsibilities. During his 25 years stay in the institute, he helped to build it into the premier HRD organisation in the region. While in SIM, Dr Tan was also involved in establishing enterprise-wide MBO systems in six medium and large organisations in Singapore. In 1987, he co-edited a book on Developing Managers In Asia, published by Addison-Wesley.
He was the Chief Operating Officer of SIM before leaving it to pursue other interests.
He is currently an Executive Director of EASB Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, a People Developer Consultant, a Certified Program Leader for Louis Allen seminars and workshops, Master Trainer, Golden Personality Type Profiler, Assessor, Chartered Management Institute, UK, and Accredited (Bass and Avlio) MLQ Facilitator.
Dr Tan's special interests in research and teaching are in the fields of Marketing and General Management. His MBA dissertation was on Marketing the Singapore Institute of Management in which he recommended the adoption of a marketing-driven strategy for the rapid growth of the Institute’s portfolio of executive development programmes. He developed the first empirically validated factor model of management work in Singapore for which he was awarded a Ph.D in Management by Brunel University/Henley Management College.
